Container Air Analysis

Fumigant and TIC detection at ppb level in a couple of seconds.

Shipping container airspace carries a complex mixture of chemical vapours. Some of these vapours are harmless while others, such as formaldehyde and methyl bromide, can be toxic. These vapours may be residues from container fumigation or may be outgassing from product components such as resins and glues. Workers entering shipping containers can be at great risk of exposure to these chemicals.

Syft instruments deliver a unique solution to Fumigant and TIC detection. Widely acknowledged as the gold standard for Container Air analysis, Syft instruments deliver a scientifically proven solution which is packaged into a simple “push-button” operation.

The Syft Voice 2000 provides:

- An integrated, turnkey system for sample collection and analysis, container venting, and reporting
- Analysis of internal airspace without opening the container door or breaking security seals .
- Real-time identification and quantitation of potentially dangerous chemicals commonly found in container airspace, including:

  • Sulfuryl fluoride (Vikane)
  • Methyl bromide
  • Formaldehyde
  • Chloropicrin
  • Ethylene dibromide
  • Hydrogen cyanide
  • Sulfuryl fluoride
